A Level I fire erupted at the Kohinoor Parking facility managed by Dadar's civic body during Monday night till Tuesday morning, resulting in the destruction of 18 vehicles, including both two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
Officials from the civic body stated that the fire was noticed around 12:24 am specifically on podium no. 4 within the parking facility near Dadar's G/North ward office. The fire primarily affected 16 four-wheelers and two two-wheelers parked on the fourth level, as per their assessment.
The Kohinoor Parking facility is composed of three levels for basement parking and a structure comprising ground-plus-thirteen floors for podium parking. The remaining floors of the 30-storey building serve as residential areas.
Debuted for public use in May 2022, the Kohinoor Parking facility was inaugurated as an innovative initiative by the BMC, featuring a digital valet service. This parking area, capable of housing up to 1,100 cars, was introduced to assist individuals visiting the Dadar market.
