Hyundai is working on integrating an LED display onto the front grilles in some of its future models. Reports identified Hyundai as the end customer of a project: a full-colour LED matrix display, meant to be used on a vehicle's front grille

Reports though make it clear that the front grille won't feature a full high-resolution display but rather a grid of LEDs arranged in a 71x32 layout. Hyundai could couple them with small LED units to increase the coverage area and offer a slightly higher resolution.

A complicated LED display at the front of the vehicle could increase costs significantly. Secondly, Hyundai will have to get around the legal issues of not being allowed to use red and blue colours at the front, which is generally reserved for emergency vehicles
