The Switchblade, a hybrid car-aircraft, successfully took flight after receiving approval from the Federal Aviation Administration in July 2022. The project, led by Sam Bousfield, CEO of Samson Sky, has been in development for 15 years.

Another start-up in San Mateo, California Alef Aeronautics just received the FAA’s Special Airworthiness Certification for its Model. It uses internal propellers like a drone. It can travel 200 miles on land and 110 in the air.

Well, after 14 years of announcement, the Samson Sky Switchblade is officially off the ground by 2025. It can manage speed of up to 200 km/hr and it will take 3-minutes for a car to unfurl and turn into a flying car.
