After the redesigned X5's worldwide debut in early 2023, BMW has now unveiled the upgraded armored version of its premium SUV. The redesigned exterior and interior of the 2023 X5 are included in the new X5 Protection VR6, which is available in worldwide markets.

Even the sportier M design cues, including as the twin-bar M grille, sharper bumpers and alloys, and even the darker chrome accents from the Shadowline package, are added to the armored SUV.

Four-zone temperature control, soft-close doors, a hi-fi audio system, a surround-view camera, and a BMW Drive Recorder are all included as standard equipment. Additionally, Integral Active Steering, active roll stabilization, and an adaptive M suspension have been updated.

All of the interior improvements from the 2023 X5 are also carried over, including the updated dashboard with a single-piece curved display that houses a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

A 48V mild-hybrid 4.4-liter V8 engine powers the new X5 Protection VR6 engine. This includes elements like an external engine oil cooling system, bank-symmetrical turbochargers, and a cross-bank exhaust manifold.
