Exterior

The Hornet, which debuted in September 1950 alongside the rest of the Hudson model lineup, was built on the 124-inch wheelbase Monobilt platform of the deluxe-sized Commodore and had unique external decoration, interior embellishments, and Hornet badges.

Interior

The car's perimeter structure allowed interior floors to lay between frame rails. Step-down bodies got their name because passengers stepped down into them. The layout allowed 6-passenger comfort.

Engine/Performance

The massive H-145 engine was what made the Hornet so unique. In essence, the H-145 was the old 262 CID Super Six that had been carefully improved upon and bored and stroked to 308 CID.
